MCRAE HOMESTEAD AND MULBERRY HILL

Victorian Event Details

Meet at 10:45 am at McRae Homestead, 11 Beverley Road, McRae. This is a National Trust Property. Entry: free for National Trust members, $10 adults, $7 concession and $4 children. The homestead was built in 1844 and is one of the oldest existing houses in Victoria. The guided tour of the homestead takes about 45 minutes, leaving plenty of time to explore the other features the property has to offer.

Bring a picnic lunch with you as there are no café facilities at this site.

After lunch those who would like to do so can travel about 30 km back towards Melboure to visit another National Trust Property, Mulberry Hill, situated at 385 Golf Links Road, Langwarrin. This was the home of Daryl Lindsay, who founded the National Gallery of Victoria, and Joan Lindsay, author of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Prices for entry are the same as at McRae Homestead.
