The venue for this weekend event is at 28 Hovell St, Avenel. We hired it several years ago and had a very enjoyable weekend there. It is a large barn-like construction that has been divided into 16 motel-style rooms, plus a large communal area and kitchen. Each room has been named as one of a number of businesses in a village.
The cost is $140 per night per room. Bookings are to be made with John Payne (0418 379 391 or johnpayne25@bigpond.com). Payment, also to John Payne, is required three weeks in advance as PACA (Vic) has to pay our hosts in advance as well.
Some rooms have already been booked. Those with one queen bed and available are Fire Station, Bakery, Barber, Butcher, Lock-up and Iron Monger. Those with two single beds (ground floor) are Police, General Store and Mayor. Those with two single beds (upstairs) are Maid and Butler. Let John know your choice of room when you book.
